Common weights: 100-weight (lightweight, transitional), 200-weight (mid-weight, the standard mid-layer), 300-weight (heavy, cold-weather). Common types: Polartec Power Stretch, Polartec Power Grid, microfleece. Skipping the cotton sweater and reaching for a quality fleece is one of the easiest wardrobe upgrades for cold weather.
