What is Cashmere? Soft, lightweight wool from cashmere goats, prized for warmth and softness.
Cashmere is the soft undercoat of cashmere goats, primarily raised in China, Mongolia, and Iran. Cashmere fibers are exceptionally fine (under 19 microns) — finer than merino wool. Cashmere sweaters are warmer than equivalent-weight wool and dramatically softer. Quality cashmere lasts decades with proper care; cheap cashmere pills aggressively and thins quickly.
