Relative Humidity
The amount of water vapor in the air, expressed as a percentage of the maximum possible at that temperature.
What is Relative Humidity? The amount of water vapor in the air, expressed as a percentage of the maximum possible at that temperature.
Relative humidity (RH) measures the water vapor content of air relative to the maximum it can hold at the current temperature. Warm air holds more water than cold air. 50% RH is typical comfortable indoor air. Above 70% RH outside, sweat evaporation slows dramatically (the body's primary cooling mechanism). Below 30% RH indoors (common in winter heated buildings), skin and respiratory membranes dry out — humidifiers help.
